Such a spectacular hidden gem of a restaurant! Service was impeccable, servers and waiters were always there to take plates and refill drinks, I was thoroughly impressed. The food was extremely delicious, I got the salmon which was cooked perfectly and placed over an incredible light mustard sauce. The chicken and veggie plate were great too! The restaurant served many complimentary small plates, which was greatly appreciated, that included a bread basket, mini charcuterie, green beans, carrots, and biscotti. I can’t wait to come back again!
Tagliolini were okay. The carpaccio was excellent and so were the house made gnocchi. Good wine selection, I enjoyed the Ripasso.
Good Italian in the UES
As always, Canaletto doesn’t disappoint with its excellent food and service. Been coming for years and always a great place to bring family, friends, clients. etc., or have a quiet one with the wife. Malwina is also great fun at the bar.
Very attentive service. Wine was nicely paired with our white salad and lasagnette.
Their outdoor seating during covid restrictions is quite fine: tropical plans in pots, white tablecloth.
I had the black and white pasta with shrimp and squid. It was amazing. I can’t wait to come back to this place. Lots of seafood dishes and veal options.
The place was ok. We went to have dinner with friends and we had a great time. Food was ok nothing I could rave about. Service was good but the server was a little pushy however service was on time and fast.
They were trying to kick us out before they even close. We ask to please lower the music because it was a little too loud and we were having a conversation but they didn’t lower it. I think a little bit of better attitude from the whole staff would benefit the restaurant. I’m still grateful for them. 🙏
Our favorite restaurant in all of NYC (and we've been to lots; Marea, BLT Prime, Russian Tearoom, Tao, Balthazar). Canaletto's food is excellent, way beyond its price, the staff is super friendly yet professional. The whole atmosphere makes you feel at home. We (me and my sister) are so happy Canaletto made it through the Corona crises, they're now open for outdoor dining & pick up. Great News
